John Casado American b. 1944
John first made his name in the world of advertising and design working initially as an art director and then for the acclaimed motion picture
graphics innovator, Saul Bass. When he formed Casado, Inc. in 1974, he began to forge an international reputation as a graphic designer,
creating branding for such companies as NEW LINE CINEMA, ESPRIT and APPLE. His memorable work on album covers won him cult
status in the music industry. In spite of his substantial design accomplishments, he also made his mark as an artist.
In 1984, he mounted a show of abstract paintings (alongside the work of Man Ray) at the Stephen Wirtz Gallery in San Francisco. Buoyed by
the positive reaction to his work, he continued to create art. In 1989, Casado added photography to his design business. His strong design
background and his innate ability to conceptualize images, helped him to quickly build a large professional photography client base.
He has been exhibited and featured in fine art photography magazines worldwide. The Museum of Art in New Orleans and the Museum of
Comtemporary Art of Chicago have placed his photographs in their permanent collections.
